A practice built around household balance sheets
Ashford Lane Financial Advice began when Margaret Ashford and Thomas Lane opened a small office in MacGyverford to give pension and investment advice without the pressure of product sales floors.
Origin
After years in larger regional firms, Margaret wanted meeting rooms where clients could spread pension statements on the table and leave with a written plan — not a folder of fund brochures. Thomas joined to deepen investment research; Amira later brought protection underwriting experience for families and sole traders.
How we advise
We work on a fee basis disclosed before any engagement. Recommendations stay within UK regulated permissions. When a question belongs with a solicitor or accountant — wills, company accounts, tax filings — we say so and coordinate rather than stretch beyond our remit.
