Our approach

From first call to written recommendations

Financial advice is a sequence of conversations and documents. This page shows how Ashford Lane runs an engagement so you know what happens before you book.

Introductory call

Fifteen to twenty minutes by phone. We confirm whether your question sits within our permissions and send a document list if a consultation makes sense.

Fact-find meeting

Ninety minutes for retirement work, shorter for focused reviews. We record income, spending, pensions, ISAs, debts, and dependents. Couples usually attend together.

Research & modelling

Behind the scenes we check charges, tax wrappers, State Pension timing, and product suitability. Illustrations show ranges, not promises.

Presentation

You receive a written plan and a walkthrough meeting. Questions are expected — especially about sequencing withdrawals or delaying a claim.

Optional implementation

If you want us to arrange switches, drawdown setup, or protection applications, that stage is scoped and fee’d separately in your letter of engagement.

What to prepare

Recent pension statements, State Pension forecast, ISA valuations, and a rough monthly spending note. See our guide on preparing for a first meeting for a fuller checklist.
